Liu Yangwei said that the metaverse is something that happens naturally on the internet. The biggest difference between the Metaverse Era and the old Internet Era is that the Internet uses usernames and passwords for identification, which will be eliminated in the future and replaced by avatars similar to virtual characters.
As for the application of Metaverse wearable devices, there are different uses such as general consumer use, industrial use and medical use. In terms of consumer use, Hon Hai will combine customers with products with the best user experience; for industrial use, Hon Hai itself is the largest electronic manufacturing service provider, and will actively develop new products by virtue of its existing advantages.
Liu Yangwei emphasized that Hon Hai is the world's largest data center manufacturer, and its annual server revenue has reached one trillion yuan, making it the biggest beneficiary of the Metaverse hardware side.
In the future, supporting the operation of the Metaverse will require a far more powerful server architecture than now. There will be huge demands for cloud data storage and cloud computing, and the demand for data centers will also increase. These demands are based on Hon Hai's existing capabilities. can be satisfied.
Liu Yangwei emphasized that the realization of the metaverse must have strong computing power, and the high-dimensional computing power of quantum computers will be an important key in the future. The Institute of Quantum Computing of Hon Hai Research Institute is investing in this area.
Liu Yangwei said that Hon Hai is currently the first and only company in the field of quantum computing in Taiwan; and the first batch of talents in Taiwan who have received quantum professional training are all in the Institute of Quantum Computing of the Hon Hai Research Institute.
